Why Of Swordsmen and Sorcery costs more from Amazon AU than Amazon USA

HI everyone

Just a quick note to explain to my Australian readers why they have to pay more for Of Swordsmen and Sorcery than my American readers.
If you order the novel from Smashwords you can buy it for my chosen price of US$2.99, if you order it through Amazon and you live in Australia the price will automatically change to AU$3.71 (or thereabouts).

This is why, quoted direct from the Amazon KDP help desk:

As you've chosen 70% royalty option, the minimum list price that can be set for your title for our Amazon.com Kindle Store is $2.99 and that can be set for our Amazon.com.au Kindle Store is $3.99. This is the reason for the price of your title being reflected as $3.99 in our Amazon.com Kindle Store, though, the price of the title in our Amazon.com Kindle Store is $2.99 and the converted AUD is less than $3.99.

So...nothing I can do about it. Believe me, I tried. Sent numerous emails to Amazon all to no avail.

Like I said, you want to save a dollar, order Of Swordsmen and Sorcery from Smashwords instead and only pay US$2.99.

The crabs have returned!

In the tradition of James Herbert's The Rats and Guy N. Smith's Night of the Crabs, here is my own offering in the genre: Crustacean Carnage.

Marc Sarrett, a former French Foreign Legion sniper has retired to the idyllic south pacific island of Moa.
Tired of violence and war, his main concerns now are working on his tan, running his adventure tour business and relaxing in the company of his island friends.
But when a series of brutal murders take place on the island paradise his lethal skills are once more in demand.
A new visitor has arrived on Moa...and it's hungry for human flesh!

Crustacean Carnage is a homage to all those gory, sexy, violent pulp horror thrillers that NEL and other companies published in the hundreds back in the 70's.
I read many of them and enjoyed every one.
It's a crying shame that print publishers today have largely confined themselves to specific genres and types of stories.
Thankfully we can now read a lot of the original novels as eBooks, and also new novels, by new authors, in those genres and markets we've missed out on for the last couple of decades.
The eBook revolution is in full swing and I for one have embraced it wholeheartedly.

If you enjoy a good pulp fiction horror/action thriller then you'll love Crustacean Carnage.

It's currently marked down for a late January 2014 release on Amazon and Smashwords and most of the other major eBook platforms.

ALF Warz now published as an eBook

Well it's been a long time coming but I've finally gotten around to publishing ALF Warz: The Iron Sergeant as an eBook on the Kindle and Smashwords platforms...and Smashwords apparently links my book for sale to most of the other eBook retailers as well, such as Barnes and Noble and the Kobo etc.

ALF Warz: The Iron Sergeant launched this morning (my time) on the Kindle and I had two readers purchase copies within an hour or so. You can't ask for more that.

It's mid-evening now and I've just uploaded my novel to the Smashwords eBook platform.

I guess I'll just sit back and see what happens, got a number of fans on a Survival forum I write for and I already know that some of those folks will purchase a few copies. (Thanks guys!)

All I can think to make mention of at the moment.

Finally got a novel in print, even if it is virtual print.

And the big news is...I'm about to become a self-published author.

Re-edited from first page to last and wrapped up in a killer front cover.

I designed the front cover myself and it's not bad, not bad at all.
Look for it on virtual eBook shelves everywhere in the very near future.

Action and passion with a Steampunk setting!

I've got a couple of nice reviews for a story that has been published in a shared world anthology.

Originally titled: Cog Town, but published as: The Secret of Konrad Drexler.

The story is narrated by an ex-cavalry captain named Malaki Kris Rook and takes place in a Steampunk setting.

Breachspace Chronicles are a series of short stories in a ‘shared universe’ setting created by Nuno Teixeira. It is a well conceived world that is so well designed that it can cover any type of story from horror to SF to fantasy without creating any conflict.
In a nutshell the world was destroyed with the opening of a Hellmouth that spewed forth all forms of monstrosities, throwing the planet back centuries of development and totally reshaping it around them.

The Secret of Konrad Drexlar by Kevin Lumley 

When a reknowned ex-soldier turns up at Cog Town, one of the most important cities of the new world, he finds that the simple task he has been charged with has been complicated by the murder of his inventor contact – as he searches to find out what it was he was meant to retrieve he might just find love, danger and something that could change the world forever.

It’s a great story, with a strong voice, Lumley really makes you hear the protagonist as he tells the tale. It is an excellent introduction to Cog Town, capturing the feel of the world, and the way in which things that we take for granted might be rediscovered. The other characters are well drawn, and the romance that is part of the story works well. The ending feels that we have been shown a snippet of another world, with the feeling that life goes on afterwards, that the characters have lives beyond these words which is a tremendous trick to pull off.

Nice review.

I enjoyed creating a Steampunk city for Captain Rook's adventures to take place in.
I just imagined Bernard Cornwall's Richard Sharpe character in a different setting.
It turned out quite well.
